Testimonials

My involvement with parents, caregivers and other professionals is what has inspired me to create this site. Below are some of the kind words and testimonials of experiences working with me over the past several years, leading up to the creation of this site.

  • When my son was diagnosed with Autism, my family and I knew we would have a long road ahead. However, the hardest part was where do we begin? When Susan worked with us, she created so many different strategies to address the behaviors and the lack of communication that he was displaying. She introduced us to sign language to try and help him, which eventually turned into him using his words and expressing his needs. When another challenge arose, we knew we had her support and compassion to help us. She would try so many methods and guide us in the right direction. The hardest part was when my son had to move on. Susan had us as well as my son prepared for the next steps in his life. We also created a relationship with Susan and know even to this day we could always reach out to her with anything. My son loved her and enjoyed every moment he was able to share. We are so thankful and grateful that she was our guide in the beginning and prepared him for his future. We hope everyone is as lucky as we were to have Susan in their lives.

  • Let me start by saying, Sue became family not only to my son, but to my entire family. Sue started working with us when he was just 18 months old. He was completely non-verbal. Through play and things that he loved to do, she started to get some sounds out of him. This was HUGE for us. He was starting to make the “ahh” sound and I couldn’t be happier. With constant showing and exposure to the ABC’s, colors and numbers, my son started to learn all he could be learning. Sue’s patience, understanding and sweet way about her was the perfect approach for my son. I couldn’t have asked for a better teacher to help my boy and my family. He is now 5 and is in Kindergarten. He is talking, reading and writing. I couldn’t be more thankful!!

  • Both my children who were diagnosed with Autism at age 2. Sue was amazing with my children. Sue was extremely organized and very well versed in Special Education. Sue always took time out of her day to answer any questions we had and gave tips on how to work on behavioral issues. I will always consider Sue one of our angels. She made it possible for our children to come out of their shell and transformed them into the bubbly little 4 year old’s they are today! We will forever be grateful for her work.

  • I had the pleasure of working with Susan online. As a parent, who found myself nervous about how a virtual stranger would connect with my child and I, my fears were assuaged within the first five minutes of our very first session. Susan is both kind and welcoming. So much so, that my very difficult 3-year-old took to her immediately. She helped us not only halt any possible regressions, but to see real progress in his behavioral and language skills. I left each session feeling confident and more knowledgeable in not only each step we took, but in why we were taking them. Susan's love of education was apparent each time we met and was contagious to a constantly concerned parent. She was prepared with resources and suggestions at each crossroad and I felt fortunate to have her there as I learned to walk down this path with my child.

  • Sue has been working with our family over the last 8 years. The impact of her work with my sons will last their entire lives. She has been here for us from the beginning. Both boys were diagnosed with Autism before they turned two. The questions and concerns we had for them were overwhelming. I did not know where to begin or how to move forward. Her words were comforting from the moment she said “hello.” I started asking countless questions and she listened. No question was too big or too small. She listened without judgment or critique. Each question had value and her approach gave me the confidence to do everything I could to best help my sons. Her responses came from education, experience, and the heart.

Her sincerity, kindness, and patience creates an environment that promotes the most amazing teamwork. We are in this together. She is more than the definition of a teammate. She is our MVP when it comes to helping our little guys. She understands the roller coaster of ups and downs that so many experience. Her steadfast approach, professionalism, and encouragement along the way is the positive push that you hope for in such a teammate. The collaborative effort is unlike any I have ever encountered in an educational setting. She has helped us become better teachers for our boys. Her willingness to try new ideas in the best interest of the children is contagious. I love sharing information with her and knowing her wheels are already turning with ideas on how to make it happen. She is everything you would hope for in a teacher.

Sue’s dedication to children and parents in need of help is admirable. Our boys are happy and thriving. She has helped build their skills and confidence. It is no surprise to see their smiles when she enters the room. We will never be able to thank her enough for the countless memories that she has given us throughout the years. She will always be such an incredible blessing for our family.

  • Working with Sue online was just what I needed during this time in my life when I was struggling with how to help my daughter. She helped me with so many tips and tricks, that I felt I was heard and was able to help my daughter be successful at PreK and camp. I can’t thank her enough for listening and being so supportive. Suggestions such as: putting reward systems in place, making sure my daughter repeated what I said for understanding and the use of social stories were all helpful. Sue… I can’t thank you enough for everything.

  • I have worked with Susan in a few different ways. I have had the privilege to work with her when she was a team lead on a case, as a team member on a case and as a staff trainer. In every role, Susan was consistently knowledgeable, dependable, driven to do the best for her client and had excellent communication. Each professional experience I have had with her, she had communicated in an effective way. I have witnessed her adjusting her communication depending on the audience she is speaking, which is a crucial professional skill to have in this industry. This skill has enabled Susan to pass on to others her expertise in using behavioral strategies to help improve skills and reduce problem behaviors in children with Autism. She has armed parents with knowledge and skills to help them interact with their child for years to come. In every situation I have worked with Susan, I have learned something new. I look forward to working with her again in the future.

  • When my husband and I met with Susan for the first time, a sense of calm immediately filled our home. We both knew right away that she was who we wanted to help our family. Susan made sure to involve us in each session, ensuring that we had the tools to navigate through the toughest of situations. She taught us not to just ride out or avoid the “storms”, but how to teach our little ones through it. She taught us how to make sure they get the most out of life. No matter how big a tantrum our children had or even how anxious and stressed I felt at times, Susan always maintained her sense of calm and made sure to guide us out of it in any way that she could.

Susan has been with my family since our autism journey began almost 4 years ago. My daughter was diagnosed shortly after her second birthday. My son was only 6 months old at the time. He would later be diagnosed with autism as well during the summer of the pandemic in 2020 at the age of 2 years old. Not only was I still recovering from childbirth and adjusting to my daughter’s diagnosis and now my son and his diagnosis, but was also juggling how to navigate services, programs, therapies, therapists, evaluations, paperwork and more paperwork for BOTH of them at the same time. This would occur while my oldest daughter was in high school starting to drive and getting ready for college. I was completely overwhelmed!! My husband worked 2 jobs so that I could stay home with the kids and coordinate the 20 hours EACH of weekly services we would thankfully receive. I cannot imagine surviving all of that without Susan. Her patience, kindness and guidance really brought my children to a place that at that time, I couldn’t see us getting to.
My daughter was completely nonverbal. She would scream ALL day EVERY day and would self-harm by running headfirst into anything or anyone she could without notice. Susan was right by my side working through it all with us. Through all the tears, mine and my daughter’s. It takes a special kind of person to work with children with autism. Because of Susan, my daughter can now communicate certain wants and needs vocally. She sings, participates in circle time with her peers, laughs, and is even starting to play Tee Ball!

During the beginning of the pandemic, when my son was diagnosed with autism, Susan continued to help us online. To be honest, I was skeptical about learning through a computer and thought, “this is not my favorite”, BUT Susan didn’t skip a beat! I became her hands and she guided me to do as she would have had she been there in person. She taught me how to teach my son sign language paired with speech through a computer screen!! I am still in awe of that moment and tear up when I think about when we taught him his first sign. He no longer uses sign language to communicate and has since been talking.

Susan saved our family and in doing so has become family. She has even inspired our oldest daughter to pursue a career in the field and help families affected by autism. Words cannot even begin to describe our experience having Susan be such an important part or our autism journey. She truly is remarkable.

  • Susan has been the game changer when it comes to my daughter's development. I have been working with Susan since my daughter's early diagnosis, and after she has always been an amazing asset. When my services shifted away from Susan, I found myself reaching out to her a few years later for help. I am so glad I did.

Susan is very knowledgeable and innovative. She really understands students with special needs and differentiates to fit the needs of the child. Susan uses her years of experience and research-based practices to meet the needs of every child she teaches.

I cannot recommend Susan enough for any child with special needs!
